Romanian Journal of Petroleum & Gas Technology (pISSN 2734–5319; ISSN-L 2734–5319; eISSN 2972–0370) is an open access, peer-reviewed, international scientific journal in the field of petroleum and gas, published two times per year, and continues the long tradition established by the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti Bulletin – Technical Series (ISSN 1224-8495), whose successor it is.
Initially founded in 1956 and published under the present title since 1993, the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti Bulletin, Technical Series / Buletinul Universităţii Petrol-Gaze din Ploieşti, Seria Tehnică (ISSN 1224-8495) was a peer-reviewed, international scientific journal in the field of petroleum and gas. The Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti Bulletin, Technical Series was normally published four times per year (additional issues appeared in the years 2006, 2008 and 2010) and was the first academic journal edited by the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti, the only University in Romania specialised in the field of petroleum and gas, founded in Bucharest in the year 1948 (under the name Petroleum, Gas and Geology Institute) and moved to Ploiesti in 1973.
The topic of the published papers covers all the fields linked to the petroleum and gas industry, that is: oil wells drilling, oil and gas reservoirs production, petroleum geology and geophysics, petroleum products transportation and storage, petroleum technology and petrochemistry, renewable energies, environmental protection, petroleum and oilfield equipment (design, optimization, production, materials and technologies), electrotechnics, electronics and automation in the petroleum industry a.o.
Our Journal primarily reflects the scientific activity of the academic staff (including students and PhD candidates) from the technical Faculties belonging to the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti, but many other researchers from outside our University, affiliated (from other Universities, research institutes and petroleum industry) or independent, Romanian or international, have also published their papers.
Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti Bulletin – Technical Series started to impose its present high standards and completely changed its form in 2006. Beginning with No. 2/2006, the journal was integrally published in English (the majority of the papers) and French (German is also accepted) with abstracts in both English and Romanian. The full content of the papers is freely available on the Bulletin website.
In addition, starting with our 2006 issues, we have gone from an open-review system to a double blind peer-review one, in order to ensure a better quality of our published material.
This publication follows an open access model. The articles published here are accepted after a double blind peer review, and after their acceptance, the papers will be published in the Journal with a DOI number assigned.
